Responsible Tourism
Our Teams at Treks India in UK and India are specialised in their profession and are proactive in supporting responsible and ethical Tourism.
Our Social and Environmental responsibilities are to make our Clients aware of the need to:
:: Respect local customs and traditions.
:: Respect the local people and ask permission before taking photographs.
:: Encourage our Clients to learn some local words.
:: Support locals by buying their crafts, which encourages skills to live on.
:: Think before giving money to beggars.
:: Take away any non bio-degradable rubbish.
Our Charities
ASRA – Charity: to support and educate village children to improve their lives.
In 2006 Treks India formed Asra–Charity to make sure that the local communities get some benefit from our visits. The Charity has been set up to help needy children in local Schools.
In our first year, 2007, we helped 5 mountain schools, near Shimla, by providing 209 school children with warm clothes, shoes and stationery. We are grateful to Cundall Manor School from Yorkshire UK, for their great support and contribution to make this charity a success.
Rakhal
Another Charity to support and educate mountain shepherds, with the help of Mr Ron Embrose from US.

Our Team
Our team of local men and women includes: guides, motorbike guides, drivers, rafting instructors, yak-men, horsemen, chefs and other helpers. Our team’s excellent knowledge of the area will ensure you experience a holiday you shall cherish for years to come
